Amnesia XXL Auto

Description

Amnesia XXL Auto isn’t just another autoflowering spin on a legendary name — it’s the real deal distilled into a self-flowering format. A 70/30 sativa-dominant cannabis strain with 23% THC, a haze-forward terpene profile and an effect that locks into your skull and stays there. Shottas® brought this one into the line-up because we don’t do watered-down genetics. If you want the Amnesia experience on an autoflowering timeline, this is where you start.

Amnesia XXL Auto genetics — cannabis seeds with sativa-dominant lineage

The Amnesia XXL Auto cultivar traces back to one of the most celebrated sativa-leaning lines in European cannabis history: Original Amnesia. This isn’t a case of slapping a famous name on unrelated genetics. The lineage is a direct cross of Original Amnesia with its own autoflowering counterpart — Original Amnesia Auto — meaning the ruderalis component was introduced without diluting the core identity of the parent.

Original Amnesia is a name that needs no introduction to anyone who’s spent time around Dutch coffeeshops or competitive cannabis cups. It delivers a soaring, cerebral high wrapped in a complex haze aroma — lemon zest, incense and that unmistakable haziness that hangs in the air long after the session ends. Its contribution to this cross is the dominant sativa architecture: tall stature, elongated internodes, and that electric, head-focused effect profile that made it famous in the first place.

Original Amnesia Auto, the second parent, is a feminised autoflowering adaptation engineered to carry ruderalis flowering behaviour while retaining as much of the original’s terpene and cannabinoid expression as possible. The ruderalis genetics introduce day-neutral flowering — the plant transitions on its own internal clock rather than waiting for photoperiod shifts. In this cross, the autoflowering parent acts as the delivery mechanism: it provides the timeline; the Original Amnesia provides the substance.

The result is Amnesia XXL Auto genetics that sit firmly at 70% sativa and 30% indica. That ratio isn’t marketing — it’s structural. The sativa dominance shapes the growth pattern, the effect and the aromatic complexity. The indica fraction adds just enough structural resilience to keep the plant from becoming unmanageably lanky. For growers who value authentic Amnesia character in an automatic format, the pedigree here is transparent and traceable.

How does Amnesia XXL Auto weed smell and taste?

The Amnesia XXL Auto terpenes don’t whisper — they walk into the room and make themselves known. The aromatic profile is dominated by a classic haze signature: that gentle, almost misty quality that seasoned smokers associate with old-school sativa lines. Underneath it, sharp citrus — predominantly lemon — cuts through with a brightness that lifts the entire nose. Incense and pine round out the edges, adding depth and resinous warmth.

This isn’t a one-dimensional lemon auto. The interplay between the terpenes creates layers that reveal themselves at different moments — lemon up front, haze in the middle, and a lingering incense finish that sticks around like the last guest at a party.

Terpene breakdown

• Terpinolene — the engine behind the haze character. It brings that slightly floral, herbal mist that defines classic Amnesia strains and separates them from the fruit-bomb autos flooding the market.
• Limonene — responsible for the dominant citrus punch. This isn’t candy lemon; it’s closer to fresh lemon zest squeezed over resin. Bright, clean, and instantly recognisable.
• Myrcene — adds an earthy, resinous undertone that grounds the lighter top notes. Without it, the profile would float away into pure citrus territory. Myrcene keeps things anchored.
• Alpha-pinene — delivers the pine element. Sharp, green, almost medicinal in its clarity. It adds a crispness to the exhale that contrasts beautifully with the softer incense notes.
• Beta-caryophyllene — a subtle spice that weaves through the background. It contributes a peppery warmth and interacts with cannabinoid receptors in its own right.

On the palate, the flavour follows the aroma’s roadmap but adds texture. The inhale is dominated by lemon and haze — clean and almost refreshing. The exhale shifts toward incense and pine, with a resinous mouthfeel that coats the throat. The aftertaste lingers: a woody, slightly sweet incense note that makes you want to go back in for another round. Connoisseurs who appreciate terpene-driven flavour will find Amnesia XXL Automatic delivers the kind of complexity that most autos can only dream about.

Amnesia XXL Auto effects — what does this marijuana strain deliver?

With 23% THC and minimal CBD, the Amnesia XXL Auto strain is built for intensity. This is a head-focused experience first and foremost — the kind of effect that starts behind the eyes and expands outward until your entire mental landscape has shifted gears. The sativa dominance (70%) shows up clearly in the effect profile: cerebral, uplifting and long-lasting.

Don’t mistake “uplifting” for lightweight. At 23% THC, this autoflowering Amnesia XXL hits with conviction. It’s the difference between a gentle nudge and a firm hand on the back of your skull.

• Intense cerebral onset — the high arrives quickly and announces itself. Users report a sharpening of focus followed by a wave of mental energy. It doesn’t creep — it shows up.
• Head-focused clarity — unlike indica-leaning strains that pull you toward the couch, Amnesia XXL Autoflowering keeps the action above the shoulders. Thoughts accelerate, creativity opens up, and there’s a sense of heightened awareness that experienced users seek out specifically.
• Long-lasting and uplifting — this isn’t a flash-in-the-pan high that fades after twenty minutes. The effect sustains, maintaining its cerebral character for an extended session. The uplift stays consistent rather than crashing into sedation.
• Mild physical relaxation on the tail end — the 30% indica genetics eventually make their presence known. As the cerebral peak slowly tapers, a gentle body relaxation settles in. It’s not couch-lock — it’s a soft landing after an extended mental flight.

What are the Amnesia XXL Auto effects best suited for?

This is a daytime strain for users who want to stay engaged, creative and mentally active. Smokers who enjoy sativa-forward experiences — the kind where you want to think, talk, create or simply feel switched on — will find Amnesia XXL Auto weed delivers exactly that. It’s not a strain for winding down before bed. It’s a strain for people who want their mind to go somewhere interesting. The combination of high THC and a sativa-dominant terpene profile makes the experience vivid without being overwhelming for anyone who knows their way around potent cannabis.

FAQ

What is the Amnesia XXL Auto strain and what is its origin?

Amnesia XXL Auto is a sativa-dominant autoflowering cannabis strain descended from Original Amnesia — one of the most iconic haze varieties in European cannabis culture. It was developed by crossing Original Amnesia with its autoflowering counterpart, preserving the classic effect and aroma in a self-flowering format.

What genetics make up the Amnesia XXL Auto strain?

The Amnesia XXL Auto genetics come from a direct cross of Original Amnesia and Original Amnesia Auto. This keeps the lineage tight and focused — the ruderalis component was introduced through the autoflowering parent without bringing in unrelated genetics.

Is Amnesia XXL Auto sativa-dominant, indica-dominant, or a hybrid?

Amnesia XXL Auto is a sativa-dominant hybrid — 70% sativa and 30% indica. The sativa side drives the cerebral, uplifting effect and the complex haze aroma, while the indica fraction provides structural balance.

What is the THC content of the Amnesia XXL Auto strain?

Amnesia XXL Auto reaches up to 23% THC, placing it firmly in the high-potency category for autoflowering strains. This level of THC contributes to the intense, head-focused effect the strain is known for.

What is the CBD content of the Amnesia XXL Auto strain?

CBD content in Amnesia XXL Auto is minimal — well below 1%. This strain is engineered for THC-driven effects, not cannabinoid balance.

What does the Amnesia XXL Auto strain taste like?

The flavour profile opens with clean lemon and haze on the inhale, transitions to incense and pine on the exhale, and finishes with a resinous, woody aftertaste. It’s layered rather than one-note.

What does Amnesia XXL Auto smell like?

The aroma leads with a classic haze mist — gentle but persistent — overlaid with sharp lemon citrus. Incense and pine fill out the background, giving it depth and a slightly ceremonial quality.

Which notes dominate the flavour and aroma profile of Amnesia XXL Auto?

Haze and lemon are the dominant notes in both aroma and flavour. Incense provides the signature warmth, while pine adds a crisp, resinous edge. Together they create a profile that’s unmistakably Amnesia.

What does Auto mean in the name Amnesia XXL Auto?

Auto indicates that these are automatically flowering seeds — the plant transitions from vegetative growth to flowering on its own internal clock, without needing changes in the light cycle. This comes from ruderalis genetics bred into the lineage.

What makes Amnesia XXL Auto stand out from other Auto strains?

Most autos sacrifice potency or terpene complexity for speed. Amnesia XXL Automatic delivers 23% THC and a genuinely layered haze-citrus terpene profile — a combination that’s rare in the autoflower seeds category. The sativa-forward effect is another differentiator; many autos lean indica by default.

Which strains is Amnesia XXL Auto most often compared with?

Users and growers most frequently compare it with other haze-lineage autos and fast sativa-dominant strains. Its closest reference point is always the original photoperiod Amnesia — the benchmark it’s measured against in terms of aroma, flavour and cerebral effect.

Why do collectors often choose Amnesia XXL Auto?

Collectors value Amnesia XXL Auto marijuana seeds for the direct, traceable lineage back to Original Amnesia and the preservation of authentic sativa traits in an autoflowering format. It’s a souvenir seed with genuine genetic pedigree, not a novelty cross.

How does Amnesia XXL Auto differ from the photoperiod version of this strain?

The photoperiod version requires light-cycle manipulation to trigger flowering and typically allows for a longer vegetative phase. Amnesia XXL Auto flowers on its own timeline regardless of light schedule. Both share the same core genetics and terpene profile, but the auto offers a faster seed-to-harvest window.

Who is Amnesia XXL Auto a better choice for than the photoperiod version?

Growers who want quick cannabis seeds that don’t depend on photoperiod control, or those working in environments where a compact, time-bound lifecycle is advantageous. It’s also ideal for anyone new to sativa-dominant strains who wants the experience without the extended timelines.

Are Amnesia XXL Auto seeds from Shottas Seeds feminised?

Yes — all Amnesia XXL Auto autoflowering seeds from Shottas® Seeds are feminised, meaning every seed is designed to produce a female plant. No need to identify and remove males.

Store them in a cool, dark, dry environment — ideally in an airtight container at stable room temperature or slightly below. Avoid humidity and temperature fluctuations to preserve viability over time.

Does Amnesia XXL Auto preserve the sativa-forward character of the original Amnesia?

Absolutely. The 70/30 sativa-indica ratio, the haze-citrus terpene profile and the intense cerebral effect all carry over from the Original Amnesia parent. The autoflowering format changes the timeline, not the character.

Is Amnesia XXL Auto a sativa or indica?

Amnesia XXL Auto is a sativa-dominant strain with a 70% sativa / 30% indica genetic ratio. The sativa heritage dominates every aspect — from the head-focused high to the haze-driven aroma.
